Frimley Park Hospital required a temporary facility to house their scanning department for 3 years whilst a new diagnostic imaging suite is being built. Modular manufacturing was an obvious choice for less disruption on site, the speed of construction and meeting programme deadlines in line with the decommissioning of the existing facilities.
We were commissioned to deliver the M&E design and BIM modelling for the 360m2 MRI scanning facility. Working to our client's brief and the project programme we delivered a set of construction drawings that enabled the smooth production and installation of the building services at an offsite facility in Hull. Collaboration between the design and installation team was of paramount importance to ensure that the penetrations for services were accurately replicated at the factory. After a tight programme of 5 weeks, the end result was a fully coordinated MRI facility that was delivered to site in August.
Scope of services:
- Produce Construction drawings for M&E contractor
- Manage models and drawings for M&E contractor
- Coordinate with multitude of other services
- Clash detection against all AEC discipline models
- Produce models for offsite fabrication
- File types: .RVT, .DWG, .NWD, .NWF
We are fully behind the drive towards Building Information Modelling (BIM)
and see a future where BIM delivery is the norm.
